Journeys; humans love a journey. Whether it's personal or with friends, physical or spiritual we are drawn to discover the unknown. What we discover is known only to the traveller. Geoff Todd likes a journey. Or maybe an adventure. Either way his life story is all about destinations and sometimes departures. It is well known that as a ‘young’ lad he, and his partner Janette, found themselves in Arnhem Land after answering an ad in a Melbourne newspaper. The year was 1984 and the experience has influenced his art practice ever since. Thirty-seven years later Geoff reconnects with those early days in an inspiring exhibition titled, ‘Tea and Biscuits’. Drawing on memories and feelings harnessed from those pivotal years, Geoff captures the energy and innocence of Aboriginal youth. His acclaimed linework and creative compositions showcased in this exhibition confirm Geoff as one of Australia’s leading figurative artists.

NOTE: Following in the tradition of an Australian road trip, Geoff drove the exhibition artworks from Ararat to Darwin in early January, successfully dodging road closures and monsoonal downpours….the journey continues!
