Kuruntu Palyani

The Kaltjiti Art Centre straddles the banks of the Officer Creek in the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara lands and is recognised internationally for its bold and powerful renditions of country and culture. Deliberate and confident colour combinations saturate the linen. Every mark on every painting is rendered with culture and country in mind. Tjukurrpa stories transform into physical representations imbued with power and strength. On completion an artist may declare ‘kuruntu palyani' meaning 'a painting from the heart.' This is a term used when an artist has created a strong work. We are proud to collaborate with Kaltjiti Arts to present this stunning body of work by both senior and emerging artists, each piece a kuruntu palyani.
